Dell is first to market with USB-C monitor in Australia

Dell, the leader in monitor design and sales worldwide, has become the first monitor vendor to release a new-generation USB-C connected monitor in Australia. The monitor sports a power plug, USB-C port, two USB-A ports and an audio port. No DVI, DisplayPort, or VGA ports in sight.

Connects via USB-C

The new Dell S2718D monitor connects to your laptop or desktop PC via a single USB-C cable. No DisplayPort, DVI, or VGA port required. The simple connection enables all features of the monitor's integrated hub, as well as transferring the picture signal from the computer to the monitor.

The 27" screen size and handy hub make a bold statement on your desk.

Includes a hub featuring USB-A and audio

An integrated hub in the base of the monitor stand provides one USB-C port for connection to your computer, two USB-A ports, and an audio jack. The USB-A ports can be handy for leaving items connected on your desk with or without your laptop nearby, such as a backup hard drive, a keyboard/mouse adapter, printer, phone cable, or another USB-A based device.

This is handy, as more and more laptops from Dell and others are ditching the ports and making everything USB-C only.

And it's not dongle-city. You don't need a USB-C to HDMI adapter to plug in the monitor, just a single USB-C cord from your laptop or desktop PC to your monitor.

Plus, there's a HDMI port for connecting other sources to the monitor if you so desire.

Powers your laptop with a light charge

Your monitor is of course always plugged in to electricity, so it makes it the perfect base station for charging your laptop and other gadgets.

The USB-C connection can trickle-charge the connected laptop, and should easily power up your phone if you connect it to the USB-A port in the hub.
