The next Mac Mini is...

The next Mac Mini needs to be awesome. Will it ever arrive? After four years of waiting, lovers of the Mac Mini are giving up hope of any major re-set. Either the Mac Mini is dead, or the next Mac Mini needs to be awesome.

We'll have to wait and see what happens with the Mac Mini.

We love our Minis here at the XYZtech office. They're reliable, small, have all the ports we need, and deliver it all at a palpable price.

After waiting four years for a major upgrade, even we are losing hope. So, either the Mac Mini is dead, or the next update needs to be awesome. Not just a refreshed processor and updated RAM, but it needs to include USB-C, Thunderbolt 3, HDMI, SD card slot, Ethernet, and update those USB-A ports to USB3.1.

We'd also love to see a return to the upgradable Mac Mini of 2012, where you could remove the bottom plate and access the RAM. In the new model, we'd love to see upgradable RAM and an upgradable Solid State Drive in there.

The Mac Mini is perfect as a productivity machine for a small business or home computer, and is also ideal for more mundane tasks such as being used as an email server, central networked backup location, or a media server.

Next up: Sell me a 24inch iMac.

Until next time,
